CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT BERNADETTE M. HOLLINGER

Chief Master Sergeant Bernadette M. Hollinger is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 187th Fighter Wing, Dannelly Field, Ala. Chief Hollinger is the senior enlisted leader of the wing, responsible for advising the commander on mission effectiveness, professional development, readiness, training, utilization, health, morale, and welfare of the wing’s enlisted force.

CMSgt Hollinger entered the Alabama Air National Guard and joined the 187th Fighter Wing in March 1990 as a Ground Systems Radio Operator. In 1993, she cross-trained to Information Management where she supported the Wing staff and other groups throughout the unit. In 2008, CMSgt Hollinger was selected as the Wing and Operations Group First Sergeant. As First Sergeant, she supported a contingency deployment to South Korea for two Air National Guard units. Following her First Sergeant assignment, Chief Hollinger joined the personnel squadron where she became the NCOIC, Customer Service and Student Flight. As Student Flight leader, she was instrumental in mentoring and preparing more than 200 future Air National Guard members both mentally and physically for basic military training. Prior to her current assignment, Chief Hollinger served as Superintendent, 187th Fighter Wing Operations Group, Dannelly Field, Ala.

As a traditional Drill-Status Guard member, CMSgt Hollinger used her civilian education and experiences to assist her throughout her military career. In her civilian career as a Level II Program Manager for the Air Force, she was responsible for program planning support, financial planning, acquisition management support, and program management. In addition, she has served in various leadership roles and has attended several leadership and professional development courses which assisted her in mentoring both civilians and Airmen. Prior to her current position, the chief was the Acquisition Program Manager for two Network Centric-2 (NC-2) Network Operations and Infrastructure Solutions (NetOps) contracts valued at more than $13B, AFMC AFLCMC Business Enterprise Services, Maxwell-Gunter AFB, Ala.
