COLONEL EDWARD D. CASEY

Colonel Edward Casey is the Commander of the 187th Fighter Wing, Dannelly Field, Ala. As commander, he oversees the operations of over 1,000 personnel and 22 permanently assigned F-16C+ Fighting Falcons in support of the State of Alabama and the federal government. The wing also provides support to four geographically separated units.

Col. Casey received his commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1995. A command pilot, he has logged more than 4,200 flight hours in the T-37, T-38, F-16 C/D, and B-737. The colonel's notable past assignments include tours as the 9th Air Force Demonstration Team Commander, the lead solo pilot for the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron Thunderbirds, and the Iraq Country Director for the Deputy Undersecretary of the Air Force, International Affairs. He has also flown more than 532 combat hours in support of operations Southern Watch, Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, and Inherent Resolve. Prior to his current assignment, Col. Casey served as the 100th Fighter Squadron Director of Operations.

In his civilian capacity, Col. Casey is a pilot with a major airline.
