Brig. Gen. Jacobs Honored at Retirement Ceremony

Brig. Gen. Paul Jacobs, Alabama National Guard Assistant Adjutant General - Air, was honored at a retirement ceremony Nov. 5, 2017 at the Alabama National Guard Joint Force Headquarters, Montgomery, Ala.

Jacobs has served more than 36 years in the Alabama Air National Guard since enlisting into the 187th Tactical Reconnaissance Group in 1979. Since then, he has risen through the ranks to his latest position as the Assistant Adjutant General - Air. Jacobs was praised at the ceremony by retired Maj. Gen. Perry Smith, former Alabama Adjutant General, for his work in enhancing the cooperation between the Alabama Army and Air National Guard.

Jacobs has received numerous awards throughout his career, with the most notable being the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (4 oak leaf clusters), Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.
